How We Work at Local Counselling

Person-Centred Counselling

Person-Centred Counselling

Person-Centred Counselling

Person-centred counselling offers a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what is happening in your life.

Rather than being told what to do, you are supported to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace. The focus is on understanding what matters to you and helping you reconnect with your own sense of direction.

Integrative Counselling

Person-Centred Counselling

Person-Centred Counselling

Integrative counselling brings together different ways of understanding emotional wellbeing and relationships. The approach is adapted to the individual, rather than following a fixed programme.

Depending on what feels helpful, counselling may include exploring patterns in relationships, earlier experiences, practical coping strategies, mindfulness or grounding, guided imagery, and creative exercises.

What to Expect

Person-Centred Counselling

What to Expect

Your first session is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to counselling, ask any questions, and consider what you would like from the process.

We will also explain confidentiality and its limits, discuss how sessions work, and consider whether Local Counselling feels like the right service for you.

Counselling can be short-term, focused around a particular issue, or longer-term where this feels more helpful. Sessions are usually weekly at the beginning, although fortnightly appointments can be discussed where appropriate.

Book an Appointment

Starting counselling can feel like a big step, particularly when you are not sure where to begin. Whether you have questions or would like to book an appointment, you are welcome to get in touch.
